Experience the waterfalls and lagoons in Peru's most breathtaking landscapes with this excursion to the Nor Yauyos-Cochas Landscape Reserve.
Description
We'll meet at the designated time in Plaza Huamanmarca in Huancayo and board a minibus to an area of natural beauty. The early start will be rewarding.
After about an hour, we'll stop for breakfast before discovering The Nor Yauyos-Cochas Landscape Reserve, which spans over 200,000 hectares (49,421 acres).
Our first stop, The Abra Negro Bueno, offers a view of the High Andean lagoons from over 4,600 metres (15,091 feet).
We will continue through the picturesque Villa de Tomás, learning about local customs. Following a stroll through the village, we will visit the Cañón de Uchco, admiring its gorge and landscapes on a 10-minute walk.
Next, we will arrive at Huancaya, the source of the lagoons and waterfalls. We'll cross colonial bridges for the best views. After a 25-minute walk, we'll reach The Laguna Huallhua. You can book a boat ride across the lagoon to the Huallhua waterfalls.
We will return to Huancaya for an hour-long break to enjoy local cuisine before returning to Huancayo, concluding the tour after 16 hours at the starting point.
