Central Andes 4 Day Tour

Day 1

Pickup from your hotel at 4 am for a drive to the high Andean region of Huanuco. After a 3-hour drive, visit the colonial town of Jesús for breakfast, then continue to Lauricocha lake at 4000 metres. Visit Qhapaq Ñan and Wagratacanán, home to the Lauricocha Man fossils. Picnic lunch followed by return to Jesús for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

After breakfast, explore the town of Jesús, its square, and church. Visit the archaeological complex of Chiquia and Gongui, known for chulpas and the Inca Baths. Lunch at the baths, then travel to the Inca citadel of Huánuco Pampa, featuring palaces, temples, and an artificial lake. Visit La Union for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

After breakfast, travel to Tantamayo, touring its historical centre and enjoying lunch. A 1 hour 30 minutes walk through the archaeological centre to see yarowillcas constructions. Return to the village for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4

After breakfast, visit the archaeological site of Garu on Condor Waganan hill, including a 30-minute walk. Return to Huanuco, passing by the Corona del Inca hill and Ayapiteg, with lunch en route. Arrival in Huanuco around 7 pm for hotel drop-off.
