Central Andes 4 Day Tour

Day 1

The tour begins with a hotel pickup at 4 am for a drive to the high Andean region of Huanuco. After a 3-hour drive, we will reach the colonial town of Jesús for breakfast. We will then head to Lauricocha Lake at 4000 meters altitude and visit an Inca bridge along the Qhapaq Ñan route. A stop at Wagratacanán will follow to see the Lauricocha Man fossil. A picnic lunch will be provided before returning to Jesús for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

After breakfast, we will explore the town of Jesús, its main square, and church, followed by a visit to the Chiquia archaeological complex of the Yarowillca culture. We will also see Gongui, known for chulpas and the Inca Baths. Lunch will be at the baths, and we will then travel through Rondós to the Inca citadel of Huánuco Pampa, featuring palaces, temples, and an artificial lake. We will finish the day in La Union for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

Post-breakfast, we will proceed to the town of Tantamayo via Pachas and Chavín de Pariarca. After touring the historical center and having lunch, we will embark on a 1 hour 30 minutes walk through the archaeological site, known for its yarowillcas structures. We will return for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4

After breakfast, we will visit the archaeological site of Garu on Condor Waganan hill, a 20-hectare complex with stone walls and chulpas. A 30-minute walk will precede our return to Huanuco, stopping for lunch en route. We expect to arrive in Huanuco around 7 pm, concluding the tour.
