Huánuco City Tour
You'll be picked up from your accommodation at your preferred time to begin the tour. Huánuco is known as the city of the Knights of León due to its foundation by commander Gómez de Alvarado y Contreras, brother of conqueror Pedro de Alvarado.
We'll visit the main points of interest, including the central square, numerous temples, and religious buildings such as the cathedral and the church of San Sebastian, patron saint of shoemakers, as well as the churches of San Cristobal and San Francisco, both from the 16th century. The tour includes a visit to the mausoleum of Daniel Alomía Robles, composer of the famous melody El cóndor pasa.
The itinerary covers emblematic monuments like the Calicanto bridge and a granite fountain, over 100 years old. We will also explore the picturesque park of Santo Domingo with its "tree of love" and the house of Leoncio Prado Gutierrez, a military figure who fought in the guerrilla war against Spain in Cuba and the Philippines.
The tour concludes at the monument dedicated to the "Negritos de Huanuco", a dance associated with Christmas and Easter celebrations. After 3 hours of exploration, we will return you to your accommodation.
