Kotosh Day Trip

At your chosen time, we'll pick you up from your accommodation in Huánuco and head to the archaeological site of Kotosh, located 3 miles (5 kilometers) away.

This site features constructions that are over 4,200 years old, representing one of the earliest examples of Andean architecture. The most notable structure is the Temple of the Crossed Hands, a ceremonial building housing high reliefs of two crossed hands, believed to connect to Andean cosmovision and origins of the world.

We'll explore the stone and mud constructions in Kotosh, absorbing the ambiance of this sacred site. Additionally, we will visit the Temple of the Crossed Hands to learn about its discovery by Japanese archaeologist Seiichi Izumi in the 1960s.

Our final stop will be a magnetic point within the complex, which surprises many visitors.

After 2 hours of exploration, we'll return to Huánuco and drop you off at your hotel.
