Kotosh Day Trip
At your chosen time, we'll pick you up from your accommodation in Huánuco and head to the archaeological site of Kotosh, located 3 miles (5 kilometers) away.
This site features constructions that are over 4,200 years old, making it one of the earliest examples of Andean architecture. The most notable structure is the Temple of the Crossed Hands, a ceremonial building with high reliefs depicting two crossed hands, potentially related to Andean cosmovision and origins of the world.
We will explore the stone and mud constructions in Kotosh while appreciating the atmosphere of this sacred site. Additionally, we will visit the Temple of the Crossed Hands and learn about its discovery by Japanese archaeologist Seiichi Izumi in the 1960s.
The final stop will be at a magnetic point in the complex, known to surprise visitors. After 2 hours of exploring the ancient ruins, we will return to Huánuco and drop you off at your hotel.
