Kotosh Day Trip

At your chosen time, we'll pick you up from your accommodation in Huánuco and head to the archaeological site of Kotosh, located 3 miles (5 kilometers) away.

This site is home to constructions that are over 4,200 years old, making it one of the earliest examples of Andean architecture. The most notable structure is the Temple of the Crossed Hands, a rectangular ceremonial building featuring high reliefs of two crossed hands, believed to relate to Andean cosmovision and the origins of the world.

We'll explore the stone and mud constructions in Kotosh, visiting the Temple of the Crossed Hands and learning about its discovery by Japanese archaeologist Seiichi Izumi in the 1960s.

Our final stop will be at a magnetic point in the complex, which often surprises and amazes visitors.

After 2 hours spent exploring the ancient ruins of Kotosh, we'll return to Huánuco and drop you off at your hotel.
