Kotosh Day Trip

At your chosen time, we'll pick you up from your accommodation in Huánuco and head to the archaeological site of Kotosh, located 3 miles (5 kilometers) away.

This site features constructions that are over 4,200 years old, making it one of the earliest examples of Andean architecture. The most notable structure is the Temple of the Crossed Hands, identified as a ceremonial building where high reliefs of two crossed hands were found. The significance of these hands is thought to relate to Andean cosmovision and the origins of the world.

We will walk among the stone and mud constructions in Kotosh and visit the Temple of the Crossed Hands, learning about its discovery by Japanese archaeologist Seiichi Izumi in the 1960s.

Our last stop will be at a magnetic point in the complex, known to surprise and amaze visitors.

After 2 hours of exploring the ancient ruins of Kotosh, we'll return to Huánuco and drop you off at your hotel.
