Kotosh Day Trip
At your chosen time, we'll pick you up from your accommodation in Huánuco and head to the archaeological site of Kotosh, located 3 miles (5 kilometers) away.
This site features constructions that are over 4,200 years old, representing one of the earliest examples of Andean architecture. The most notable structure is the Temple of the Crossed Hands, a rectangular ceremonial building known for high reliefs of two crossed hands, possibly linked to Andean cosmovision and origins of the world.
We will explore the stone and mud constructions in Kotosh, experiencing the atmosphere of this sacred location. Additionally, we will visit the Temple of the Crossed Hands and learn about its discovery by the Japanese archaeologist Seiichi Izumi in the 1960s.
Our last stop will be at a magnetic point in the complex, which tends to surprise visitors.
After 2 hours spent exploring the ancient ruins of Kotosh, we'll return to Huánuco and drop you off at your hotel.
