  • 6 Stunden

Spend a day full of mystery with this fantastic tour of the Witches Valley of Huanuco where you will discover enchanting mysteries and legends.

Witches Valley Tour

We will pick you up at 8 am at your lodging in Huanuco to begin this tour in the Valley of the Witches. The first stop will be at the church of the Forgotten Christ, known for an unexplainable phenomenon in 1986 when the image of Jesus Christ on the cross reportedly bled spontaneously. We will explore the temple and discuss this event, which earned it the name Church of the Miraculous Crucified Christ.

Next, we will visit the Cerro de las Brujas, associated with local legends of witches. You will learn about their activities at this site. As we traverse the valley, we will see remnants from the colonial era, including the Hacienda Ingenio and the church of San Miguel Arcángel, established by Franciscan monks. We will then stop at the house where Simon Bolivar spent the night in 1822 during his campaign for freedom, sharing mysterious stories of his stay.

We will also visit the chullpa de Collormayo, a pre-Inca funeral monument to learn about ancestral funeral rites. The tour concludes at a zoo and craft museum showcasing ceramics from the Atash, Acosh, and Chavín cultures and examples of ecological art.

Finally, we will take you back to your lodging in Huánuco, where we will arrive at 2 pm.
