Tour Options
You can choose between two options that start at kilometer 35 in the Racchi Ayllu community. Each includes an English-speaking guide, materials for the weaving workshop, and food for llamas and alpacas, along with a delicious lunch comprising soup, a traditional main course, and a seasonal fruit drink.
Below are the details for each tour option:
Bracelet Workshop (2 Hours and 40 Minutes)
After a warm welcome and hearty lunch, interact with the llamas and alpacas, and visit the guinea pig barn. Participate in a bracelet weaving workshop led by local craftswomen, while learning about the textile-making process from wool sourcing to dyeing. You can purchase hand-woven textiles before concluding the experience.
Schedule: every day at 12 noon, 1 pm, and 2 pm.
Waist Weaving Workshop (4 Hours)
Begin by feeding the llamas and alpacas and learning about guinea pig domestication. Gain insights into textile processes and the empowerment mission for single women in vulnerable situations. Engage in hand spinning wool, dyeing wool, and waist weaving with sheep and alpaca fibers. At the end, take home dyed wool and the created belt, with an option to purchase handcrafted items.
Schedule: every day at 9 am and 12 noon.
