Discover the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar on this day trip from Huelva, where you will explore the Rock, learn about its history, and meet the famous monkeys inhabiting the area.
Gibraltar Day Trip Itinerary
Your tour guide will pick you up from your selected meeting point and head towards Gibraltar, a British territory since the late 18th century. This site has a history of disputes between the United Kingdom and Spain, attributed to its strategic location.
The itinerary includes a minibus tour of the Rock of Gibraltar and a guided visit to St Michael's Cave, a limestone cave system with military significance since the Middle Ages. You'll navigate its rock chambers while learning about the historic sieges and battles.
Afterward, visit Europa Point, the southernmost tip of Gibraltar, which provides views of the surrounding area, including the Port of Algeciras and the Strait of Gibraltar. On clear days, the Rif Mountains in Morocco may be visible. Europa Point features the Shrine of Our Lady of Europe and the Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim Mosque.
Your tour will also include meeting the Barbary macaques, the only wild primate species in Europe. Legend has it that British presence will remain as long as these monkeys do. Following this, you will have free time to dine in local restaurants (not included) or shop due to Gibraltar's duty-free status.
The day trip concludes with a return journey to Huelva, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
