Explore Huelva's history and city center on this guided tour, highlighting the Reina Victoria neighborhood, Hotel Colón, Gran Teatro, Mora Claros Palace, and other iconic sites.
Description
We will meet at the scheduled time beside the Caseta del Guarda and begin our guided tour of Huelva.
The tour starts with a stroll through the Reina Victoria neighborhood, a Cultural Heritage Site with homes of British origin, showcasing the history of Anglo-Saxon immigrants from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Next, we visit the historic Hotel Colón, built for the 4th centenary of the Discovery of America, once a luxurious accommodation favored by British executives for its electricity and hot water access.
We will then explore Huelva's old town, passing the Virgen del Rocío monument, City Hall, and Gran Teatro, focusing on areas significant to the local bourgeoisie.
Following that, we will enter the Mora Claros Palace, noted for its wrought iron railings and decorative tiles, recognized as a leading modernist building and a symbol of the city's economic prosperity. One of Huelva's mayors resided here.
The tour includes a visit to the historic Riotinto mineral wharf, an example of 19th-century industrial architecture offering views of the Odiel River.
This 2-hour and 15-minute tour concludes beside the Riotinto pier.
