Huelva: On the Trail of Christopher Columbus

After being picked up from your selected pickup point, you will embark on a tour of the "lugares colombinos," the historical route in Huelva province visited by Columbus. Your local guide will provide insights into the history of Palos de la Frontera, the first stop.

In Palos de la Frontera, your journey begins at the 13th century Franciscan monastery known as La Rábida Friary, where Columbus stayed after his expedition request was denied by the royals in 1490. This site has been a Spanish National Monument since 1856.

Your next stop is the Wharf of the Caravels, a museum dedicated to Columbus' journey, featuring replicas of the three ships from the voyage: the Pinta, Niña, and Santa María. Here, you'll also have the chance to visit the Isla del Encuentro, showcasing scenes explorers may have encountered upon reaching the "New World".

After your exploration of Columbus' route in Huelva, you will be returned to your original pickup point in the city centre.
