El Salto Waterfall 2-day Private Hiking Tour

Day 1

At 6 am we'll meet at Carrera 4d in Ibagué and take a 4x4 to Juntas to commence the trekking route to El Salto waterfall. A breakfast in Juntas will energize us for the excursion. At 7:30 am, we'll start our mountainous trek towards the Escuela El Salto. This six to eight-hour walk will take us through Combeima canyon and provide views of the snow-capped summit of Tolima.

Halfway, we'll pause for a lunch of rice, meat, plantain, and lemonade. We will then reach the rural inn of El Salto School, known for hosting young farmers and serving as a refuge for mountain enthusiasts, where we will rest until the next day.

Day 2

After breakfast at the school's inn, we'll set off on a one-hour route to El Salto waterfall. After enjoying the scenery, we’ll return to the school and begin our descent back to Juntas. This five to six-hour descent includes a stop for a hamburger while enjoying views of the Nevado del Tolima, a volcano over 5200 meters high.

We will then board the jeep for our return trip to Ibagué, arriving at approximately 5 pm.

Accommodation

The tour includes one night's accommodation at the rural inn of the El Salto School.
