Day 1: Ibagué - Finca Vancouver

We will meet at Carrera 4d in Ibagué at 4 am, then take a 4x4 to start the trek. After a three-and-a-half-hour drive, we will arrive at La Punta, in Palomar. Following breakfast, we'll walk 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) through the Amberes valley and past the Vancouver and Bombona lakes, stopping for a hamburger lunch. We will spend the night at the Finca Vancouver country inn.

Day 2: Finca Vancouver - Arenales

After a hearty breakfast, we'll embark on a 13-kilometre (8 miles) trek, climbing up to 790 metres (2591 feet). The trail features uneven terrain, moorlands, and sandy areas, with endemic species such as toucans and Andean condors. We will pause for a beef stew lunch before reaching the Arenales campsite at 4400 metres (14435 feet).

Day 3: Arenales - Cañon Hot Springs

On the third day, we will wake up early and start a 12-kilometre (7.4 miles) hike to the summit of the Nevado del Tolima. This ten-hour hike culminates at over 5200 metres (17060 feet), offering views of Nevado de Ruiz, Nevado del Cisne, and Nevado de Santa Isabel. We will end the day at the Cañón hot springs, enjoying a hot bath and rest at the campsite.

Day 4: Cañón Hot Springs - Ibagué

On the final day, we will hike 18 kilometres (11 miles) back to La Punta, starting from the thermal baths. After visiting waterfall El Salto and having a beef stew for lunch in Palomar, we will conclude our journey by arriving in Ibagué at 7 pm.
