Day 1: Ibagué - Finca Vancouver

We will meet at Carrera 4d in Ibagué at 4 am, then take a 4x4 to begin the trek. After a three and a half hour drive, we will arrive at La Punta in Palomar. Following breakfast, we’ll trek for 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) through the Amberes valley, with a lunch break. We will rest at the Finca Vancouver country inn.

Day 2: Finca Vancouver - Arenales

Day two begins with breakfast before a 13-kilometre (8 miles) hike with a 790-metre (2591 feet) ascent. We will encounter varied terrain, endemic species, and take a break for beef stew. The day ends at the Arenales campsite with panoramic views from 4400 metres (14435 feet).

Day 3: Arenales - Cañon Hot Springs

On the third day, we begin early with snacks for breakfast. We’ll hike 12 kilometres (7.4 miles) to the summit of Nevado del Tolima, reaching over 5200 metres (17060 feet) after ten hours. Afterwards, we'll visit the Cañón thermal baths to relax.

Day 4: Cañón Hot Springs - Ibagué

The final day covers 18 kilometres (11 miles) back to La Punta. We will visit El Salto waterfall after descending through the Nevado del Tolima, followed by lunch before arriving in Ibagué at 7 pm.

The tour includes 2 nights of camping and 1 night in a rural inn.
