On this tour to the wax palm sanctuary of Toche, you will explore one of the symbols of Colombia: the tallest palms in the world.

Toche Wax Palm Sanctuary Tour

We will meet at 6:30 am on Carrera 6, departing from Ibagué towards the eastern slopes of the Central Cordillera of the Colombian Andes.

The wax palm sanctuary is located between Toche and Tolima. From the bus, you can view Cerro Machín, a stratovolcano with lush vegetation.

Before our arrival, we will stop in the town of Cajamarca for breakfast and a visit to Santander Park. Here, we will stroll among trees and observe the bust of Cardinal Perdomo and the statue of Pedro César García Moreno.

Next, we will visit the thermal baths of Toche, highlighting ancient trees such as the 'old man's beard' or 'San José'.

Upon reaching the sanctuary, we will walk through the largest group of wax palms in the world, learning about their significance and uses while enjoying the natural surroundings.

Finally, we will return to Ibagué, arriving at approximately 6 pm.
