On the excursion to the Ballestas Islands, Tambo Colorado, and the Moron Lagoon, we will learn about the history of the Peruvian coast and visit ecologically important sites.

Ballestas Islands, Tambo Colorado & Moron Lagoon Tour

At 6:30 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Ica and travel to the El Chaco dock in Paracas Bay.

There, a boat will take us to the Ballestas Islands for a panoramic tour of this archipelago, which hosts various endemic fauna species.

We will observe colonies of sea lions and birds including Humboldt penguins, waders, boobies, seagulls, and pelicans. We will also view the Candelabro de Paracas, a geoglyph created approximately 2500 years ago, with an unclear meaning.

On our return to Paracas, we will board the bus to the archaeological site of Tambo Colorado, a significant Inca settlement on the Peruvian coast featuring adobe structures. We will tour its three sectors and see buildings such as La Fortaleza.

Next, we will proceed to the Morón Lagoon in the Humay district, known for its blue-green waters. You will have free time for swimming, sandboarding, and lunch at one of the local restaurants.

Finally, we will return to Ica and conclude the excursion in the Plaza de Armas between 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm.

Weather conditions

This activity is subject to weather conditions. If the weather does not allow the planned itinerary, the White Islands and the Paracas National Reserve will be visited instead.
