Guided Walking Tour of Iglesias

At your selected time, we'll meet in Piazza Quintino Sella. From this point, we'll begin our walking tour of Iglesias, ready to learn all about its history and admire its main monuments.

We'll start the guided tour of Iglesias by revealing some historical curiosities of this medieval town. We will discuss its mining past and the role it played when Sardinia was part of the Kingdom of Spain.

We'll walk past the medieval walls and towers of Iglesias until we arrive at the Castle of Salvaterra, which dates back to the 13th century. Afterwards, we'll return to the city center to view the façades of its main churches, such as the Church of San Domenico, the Church of La Purísima, the Church of San Marcello, and the Cathedral of Santa Clara, along with numerous parish churches from different periods.

Along the route, we'll also see art deco buildings like the Electra Theatre and important monuments commemorating the fallen soldiers of the First World War.

After a two-hour tour of Iglesias, we'll conclude our visit in Piazza Guglielmo Oberdan.
