Day Trip to a Cocoa Farm

On this tour, we'll explore the Chocolate Route of Ilhéus and visit a cocoa farm to discover the origins of chocolate.

Day Trip to a Cocoa Farm

Between 8 and 8:40 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Ilhéus to start the Chocolate Route. On board the minibus, we'll travel the road connecting the cocoa-producing farms to the town.

As we cross the Atlantic Forest, known for cocoa plantations, we will learn about the area's history in chocolate production, which has received awards in Europe. Some chocolate companies have a history spanning over 250 years.

We'll stop at a hacienda to explore the grounds, learn about daily work among the cocoa trees, and gather insights on cultivation and harvesting. We will also discover other products that can be made with cocoa.

We will taste homemade chocolate produced on the farm and have the option to purchase other sweets as souvenirs.

We will conclude the activity by returning you to your hotel at 1 pm.
