On this tour, we'll explore the Chocolate Route of Ilhéus and visit a cocoa farm to discover the origins of cocoa, making it ideal for chocolate lovers.

Day Trip to a Cocoa Farm

Between 8 and 8:40 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Ilhéus to start the Chocolate Route. During the trip on the minibus, we'll explore the road connecting cocoa-producing farms to this town.

As we cross the Atlantic Forest with its cocoa plantations, we will learn about the area’s significance in cocoa production, including the fact that local chocolate has won awards in Europe and that some companies have been operating for over 250 years.

A visit to a hacienda will allow us to walk through its grounds and observe daily activities among cocoa trees. Details about cultivation and harvesting will be shared, and we will learn about other products derived from cocoa beyond chocolate bars.

We will conclude with a tasting of homemade chocolate produced on the farm and the option to purchase additional sweets as souvenirs.

The activity will end with your return to the hotel at 1 pm.
