On this day trip to Huascaran National Park, we'll explore the landscapes of Peruvian nature and hike along the María Josefa trail to the Chinancocha Lagoon.
Tour Details
We will meet at Jirón 28 de Julio Street at the designated time. After gathering, we will head north through the Callejón de Huaylas, located between the Blanca and Negra mountain ranges, to Huascarán National Park.
During our journey, we will pass through Andean villages and take in the beautiful landscapes of Huascarán National Park, recognized as a Natural World Heritage Site and World Biosphere Reserve.
Continuing to the Llanganuco Lake and Chinancocha Lagoon, we will leave the minibus for a 1.5-hour hike along the María Josefa trail, traversing the quenual forests.
During the hike, the guide will share insights about the high Andean flora and fauna. A 1-hour break will be provided for lunch.
Post-lunch, we will visit the Campo Santo de Yungay, known for its tragic history and the monument of Christ the Redeemer. We will conclude the day trip by returning to the meeting point, lasting approximately 10-10.5 hours.
