Discover the spectacular landscapes of northern Scotland on this day trip from Inverness. You'll visit the northernmost town in Great Britain: John o' Groats.

John o' Groats Day Trip

After meeting at Railway Terrace, you'll board your bus for your excursion to John o' Groats. The first stop will be Loch Fleet, a sea loch and nature reserve home to various birds and seals. Next, you'll visit the nearby village of Golspie, where you can stretch your legs and enjoy views of the North Sea beaches.

Just outside Golspie, a stop at Dunrobin Castle will allow you to explore the castle's elegant rooms, gardens, and museum dedicated to ethnography and archaeology. Continuing north, you'll reach Wick, one of the oldest Viking settlements in the UK, where you will have free time to explore the historic center and enjoy a typical lunch (not included) while taking in views of Wick Bay.

After lunch, you'll drive for another half hour to John o' Groats. Here, you can stroll along the seafront cliff and enjoy panoramic views of the Scottish Highlands, with the possibility of spotting Atlantic puffins, grey seals, and orcas in the area.

Your journey back to Inverness will take around three hours, with brief stops at Dunbeath port and Brora for photo opportunities of the Scottish countryside. After 11 hours of exploring, you'll return to your starting point in Inverness.
