Discover the spectacular landscapes of northern Scotland on this day trip from Inverness. You'll visit the northernmost town in Great Britain: John o' Groats.
John o' Groats Day Trip
After meeting at Railway Terrace, you'll board your bus for your excursion to John o' Groats. The first stop will be Loch Fleet, a nature reserve home to various bird species and seals. Following Loch Fleet, you'll visit the village of Golspie, a place to stretch your legs and enjoy views of the North Sea beaches.
Next, you'll stop at Dunrobin Castle, known for its Scottish Baronial and French Renaissance architecture, the Sutherland Clan's family seat. You can explore the castle, its gardens, and the ethnographical and archaeological museum.
Continuing to Wick, one of the oldest Viking settlements in the UK, you will have free time to explore the historic center and enjoy a typical lunch (not included) with views of Wick Bay.
After lunch, the trip continues to John o' Groats, renowned as the northernmost town on the island of Britain. Enjoy panoramic views along the seafront cliff and look out for wildlife such as Atlantic puffins, grey seals, and orcas.
You will then return to Inverness, making brief stops at Dunbeath port and Brora for photos of the Scottish countryside. After a total of 11 hours, you'll arrive back in Inverness.
