Las Lajas Sanctuary & Tulcán Excursion
We'll meet at 10 am at Parque Santander in the Colombian town of Ipiales. From there, we will proceed to the Las Lajas Sanctuary, also known as the National Shrine Basilica of Our Lady of Las Lajas.
Upon arrival, we will tour this sacred space, visiting its museum and facilities. We will admire the altar of Our Lady of Las Lajas and learn the history of the 'Miracle of God over the Abyss'.
We will continue our visit by taking the cable car to enjoy views of the Guaitara canyon.
After the guided tour, we will return to Ipiales for a traditional lunch at a local restaurant. The menu includes lapingacho, a regional dish consisting of grilled meat with Spanish omelette and cheese.
After lunch, we will cross the border into Ecuador to visit key points in the city of Tulcán.
Finally, we will have approximately 30 minutes of free time in the commercial area before returning to the meeting point, scheduled for 6 pm.
