If you're in Iquique and want to forget about the stresses of a busy life, you'll love our day trip to Mamiña! You'll relax in the hot springs and mud baths while admiring the picturesque scenery.
Day Trip Details
After picking you up from your hotel in Iquique, we'll head east to Mamiña, a town in Chile's Tarapacá region, known for its hot springs.
Our journey crosses a vast desert landscape of candelabra cacti and reddish hills. In Mamiña, we will conduct a guided tour, walking through the streets and visiting the main square and the church built in 1632.
During the tour, we will explore its Quechua roots and centuries-old customs. Following the village exploration, we will visit the Chinese mud hot springs for a relaxing dip and skin exfoliation. Afterward, lunch will consist of three dishes from the local gastronomy at a nearby restaurant.
Post-lunch, we will visit a cheese factory on the village outskirts. Our tour includes the Ipla Hot Springs, a thalassotherapy centre with open-air pools of water between 40 and 45 degrees, known for its therapeutic properties that relieve muscle and joint pain.
Finally, we will return you to your hotel in Iquique after a total of 10 hours.
