If you're in Iquique and want to forget about the stresses of a busy life, you'll love our day trip to Mamiña! You'll relax in the hot springs and mud baths while admiring the picturesque scenery.
Day Trip Details
Having picked you up at the designated time from your hotel in Iquique, we'll set off eastbound for Mamiña. This small town, located in Chile's Tarapacá region, is famous throughout the country for its invigorating hot springs.
On our way there, we'll cross a vast desert landscape of candelabra cacti at the foot of several reddish hills. When we arrive at Mamiña, a guided tour of the village will take place, including walks through the streets, visits to the liparite stone buildings, the main square, and the church built in 1632.
During our tour, we will learn about its Quechua roots and centuries-old customs. After the village center, we will proceed to the Chinese mud hot springs for a relaxing dip and skin exfoliation. Following this, we will enjoy three local dishes at a nearby restaurant for lunch.
After lunch, we'll visit a cheese factory in the outskirts. The tour then takes us to the Ipla Hot Springs, a thalassotherapy centre with open-air pools containing water between 40 and 45 degrees, known for their therapeutic properties to relieve muscle and joint pain.
Finally, we will return you to your hotel in Iquique after a total of 10 hours.
