Amazon Indigenous Community Tour

  • 5 - 6 Stunden

Join this tour to discover the customs and traditions of the indigenous Amazonian communities by boat from Iquitos. You'll sail on the Amazon and Itaya rivers and learn about their flora and fauna.

Highlights

The group will meet at the pier in Iquitos to board a traditional boat visiting the indigenous communities. The journey along the Itaya River offers incredible views of the surrounding nature and insights into the jungle landscape characteristic of this region. After reaching the confluence of the Amazon and Itaya Rivers, we will navigate down the Nanay River to visit the Bora and Kukama communities. Here, we'll engage with tribe members to learn about their customs and traditions.

Continuing our journey, we will travel along the shore of the Padre Cocha community, where we can stop at the Pilpintuwasi butterfly farm to observe various butterflies and exotic animals. The tour concludes after 5 hours as we return to the pier in Iquitos.

Tour including pickup and lunch

To maximize this experience, consider the option that includes pickup and lunch. In this case, you'll be collected from your hotel in Iquitos before participating in the regular tour and visiting the butterfly farm. This option includes lunch in a restaurant.

There is also another option that does not include pickup but offers a lunch service while on the boat consisting of Peruvian juane and drinks.
