Amazon River Trip
After picking you up at your hotel in Iquitos, we will head into the jungle where a boat will be waiting to take us down the Amazon River. Once on board, we will set sail on this journey with a guide who specializes in this environment.
Along the way, we will see the dense jungle that covers most of Peru. In addition to riverbank vegetation, we will also encounter the floating victorias regias, the largest leaves in the world.
We will observe animal species including the lion marmoset monkey, sloth, poison dart frog, and black alligator. We will also visit a serpentarium housing snakes such as the anaconda. Other jungle species will be present in their natural habitat.
Before leaving the snake sanctuary, we'll taste liquors made from extracted tree bark and enjoy a meal in a local restaurant.
We will then visit the Yahuas Indians, who will share their culture and beliefs while displaying some of their dances and rituals, offering insights into the lives of people largely isolated from the outside world.
Before returning you to your hotel in Iquitos, we will observe the pink dolphins that inhabit the Amazon River.
