Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at Avenida Antonio Raimondi to start a comprehensive tour of Iquitos. During the tour, we'll discover the main attractions of this city located on the banks of the Amazon River and delve into its history.
We will explore the historic center of Iquitos, admiring mansions decorated with tiles brought from Europe during the rubber boom of the late 19th century.
We'll see the façade of the Casa de Fierro, designed by Gustave Eiffel. Then, we’ll visit the Museum of Indigenous Amazonian Cultures, where we will find handicrafts, textiles, and objects from various local ethnic groups.
Next, we'll stop at the Mercado de Belén, a vibrant market showcasing local life, with an array of goods including fruit, fish, and meat products.
After an hour of free time for lunch at a nearby restaurant, we’ll board a minibus for a short drive to the Amazonian Aquarium. The aquarium features diverse fish species from the region, including those from Loreto, and highlights the electric eels.
After a total of 8 hours, the tour will conclude back at the starting point.
