Iquitos Guided Tour

At 9 am, we'll meet at the central Avenida Antonio Raimondi to start a comprehensive tour of Iquitos. During the tour, we'll discover the main attractions of this city located on the banks of the Amazon River and delve into its history.

We'll make our way through the historic center of Iquitos, admiring huge mansions decorated with tiles brought from Europe during the rubber boom of the late 19th century.

Strolling through the area, we'll come across the façade of the Casa de Fierro, designed by Gustave Eiffel. Next, we'll visit the Museum of Indigenous Amazonian Cultures to see handicrafts and textiles from various ethnic groups.

Our next stop will be the Mercado de Belén, where we can experience the local lifestyle and witness the vibrant market full of fruits, fish, and meat products.

After exploring the market, we'll go to a restaurant for about an hour free for lunch. Following lunch, we'll board a minibus to visit a manatee rescue center, where we will learn about efforts to save these mammals from extinction.

The final stop will be at the Quistococha Zoo, home to various Amazonian species such as jaguars, monkeys, tapirs, caimans, snakes, and macaws. You'll have the opportunity to see them closely.

At 5 pm, the tour will conclude back at the starting point.
