Momon or San Antonio Rivers 6 or 7-Day Cruise

On this 6 to 7-day tour from Iquitos, we will travel along the Momon and San Antonio rivers, explore the Amazon basin, and visit a riverside community.

Description

Day 1

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Iquitos or the airport and transfer to the riverport to start our journey with a boat ride along the Amazon River. We will visit a natural reserve to observe Victoria Regia and later stop at an animal sanctuary to see various Amazonian species.

After arriving at our campsite by the Momon River, we will have lunch, followed by a hike to meet the Boras tribe, dinner, and a nocturnal birdwatching excursion.

Day 2

We will start early with birdwatching at sunrise, followed by breakfast. Then, we will boat down the Momon River to the Nanay, Amazon, and Itaya Rivers, stopping to see sequoia trees. We will return for piranha fishing and end the day with a movie.

Day 3

After sunrise birdwatching and breakfast, we will journey to the Padrecocha village to see butterflies, then return for lunch and a kayak tour on the Momon River.

Day 4

We will have breakfast before navigating the river confluence to spot pink dolphins. We will visit Belen and the native community of San Andres for cultural experiences, followed by dinner and a night walk.

Day 5

We will go to the riverside community of San Antonio for hiking among giant trees, return to the lodge for lunch, and have the afternoon free. Dinner will precede another nighttime jungle walk.

Day 6

After breakfast, we will tour Iquitos with stops at the Plaza de Armas, Amazon Museum, and Belen neighborhood, ending with lunch at a restaurant and return to your hotel or the airport by 5 PM.

7-Day Tour

This option follows the same itinerary for the first three days. On the fourth day, we will visit San Antonio for lunch and guided jungle walks, staying overnight in village huts. The fifth day includes jungle exploration and river fishing, returning to the campsite for dinner. On the sixth day, we will visit Belen and San Andres. The last day includes the Iquitos and Quistococha tour, returning you by 5 PM.

Accommodation

The tour includes a 5-night stay with full board at the Amazon Camp Lodge with private bathrooms. For the 7-day tour, the 4th night includes a stay in a San Antonio cabana. Prices are per person for double rooms, with children under 5 participating for free when accompanied by an adult.
