Pacaya Samiria 3 or 4-Day Tour

Discover one of the natural jewels of the Peruvian Amazon with this Pacaya Samiria 3 or 4-Day Tour. This trip departs from Iquitos.

3-Day Tour

Day 1

Upon picking you up from the airport or your hotel in Iquitos, we will proceed to the port of Nauta. There, we will board a speedboat and travel down the Marañon River, where we may see pink dolphins. A traditional lunch will be provided. The journey concludes at a campsite in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. After setting up tents, we will explore the Huaylla Lagoon ecosystem, followed by dinner and a nocturnal trekking route to search for tarantulas, scorpions, and giant frogs. We will rest at the camp afterward.

Day 2

We will rise early to watch the sunrise and potentially spot iguanas and sloths. After breakfast, we will navigate the Pucate River and observe various species like monkeys and toucans. We will camp in the jungle and have lunch. In the afternoon, we will walk through the jungle towards a lake to learn about medicinal plants and enjoy a night canoe tour before returning to camp.

Day 3

On the final day, we will sail down the Yarapa River to see otters. The trip will conclude with breakfast and lunch, followed by learning survival techniques. We will embark on a jungle hike and have free time to swim in the river. We will then return to Nauta and subsequently to Iquitos, arriving at 6 pm.

4-Day Tour

Days 1, 2, and 3

The 4-day tour includes the same activities as the 3-day tour for the first three days.

Day 4

On the fourth day, we will wake before dawn to watch birds in the reserve. After lunch, you will have free time to explore the banks of the Pucate River. We will then sail back to Nauta and return to your hotel in Iquitos, arriving at 6 pm, or we can take you to the airport three hours prior to your flight.

Accommodation

The tour includes two or three nights of camping in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, with accommodations in tents or tambos located near rivers and lagoons. Complete camping equipment will be provided.

We offer pickup from your hotel or the airport, provided your flight lands before 12 pm. We will contact you after your reservation to arrange the pickup time.
