3-Day Tour

Day 1

Upon your arrival at the airport or your hotel in Iquitos, our team will transport you to the port of Nauta. Here, you will board a speedboat and commence your adventure along the Marañon River. Keep an eye out for the remarkable pink dolphins that frequent these waters, followed by a delightful traditional lunch.

Your journey will conclude at a campsite located within the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. After establishing your tents, delve into the diverse ecosystem surrounding the Huaylla Lagoon. Dinner will be served in a natural setting, followed by an exciting night trek where you can encounter tarantulas, scorpions, and giant frogs!

You will return to the camp, where you will rest in preparation for the next day's adventures.

Day 2

Early risers will have the chance to witness a stunning sunrise and search for iguanas and sloths in the area. Following breakfast at camp, you will recharge your energy and set off on a boat ride along the Pucate River, where you can spot various wildlife, such as monkeys, macaws, and toucans. Enjoy a local lunch after disembarking within the jungle.

Your afternoon will be spent exploring the jungle towards a lake, where you will learn about the uso of medicinal plants. Following dinner under the starlit sky, a nighttime canoe trip awaits. Conclude your day back at the camp for some rest.

Day 3

On the final day, an early departure will take you sailing down the Yarapa River to observe local otters. The day will include a hearty breakfast and lunch in the camping area, along with a session on survival skills.

Afterward, you’ll participate in a jungle trek, with some leisure time to enjoy a refreshing dip in the river. The day will wrap up with a return to Nauta, and then head back to Iquitos, with an expected arrival around 6 pm.

4-Day Tour

Days 1, 2, and 3

Extend your experience in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve by opting for the 4-day tour. For the first three days, the itinerary will closely mirror that of the 3-day tour.

Day 4

On the final day, an early wake-up call will provide another opportunity to observe the local birds residing in the reserve. Following a delicious lunch, you will have free time to leisurely explore the banks of the Pucate River. Finally, you will set sail back to Nauta and then travel by road to return to your accommodation in Iquitos, arriving around 6 pm. If needed, we can also arrange transportation to the airport three hours before your flight departs.

Accommodation

Your chosen tour includes two or three nights of camping within the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. You will stay in tents or tambos (Inca-style shelters), strategically placed along the rivers and lagoons of the jungle. We will equip you with complete camping supplies including sleeping bags, mats, folding tables, chairs, and a first aid kit.

Pickup

You may be picked up either at your Iquitos hotel or at the city airport, provided your flight lands before 12 pm. After booking, our team will make arrangements with you to confirm the precise time for your pickup.
