South Amazonia 4-Day Trip with Bird Spotting

Day 1

At 9:15 am, pick up from your hotel in Iquitos will be arranged in a minibus to the port. A boat will take us to the lodge. After settling into the cabins and lunch, we will walk to identify plants that attract birds, followed by dinner accompanied by the sounds of nature.

Day 2

We will wake up pre-dawn to spot the Crax Globulosa, an endangered bird. After returning for lunch, we will enjoy a boat ride on the Yanayacu River and watch the sunset over a lagoon. The day ends with dinner and a night walk to observe nocturnal birds.

Day 3

Breakfast will be served, and if water levels permit, we will explore deep into the southern Peruvian Amazon, observing monkeys, butterflies, insects, and various birds, including the anaconda. After lunch, we will visit the Corrientillo lagoon for more birdwatching and conclude the day with a night walk.

Day 4

Early morning departure to sail to the Amazon islands, observing endemic birds and enjoying breakfast onboard while looking for the extraordinary pink dolphin and Victoria Regia plant. We will return to Iquitos after lunch, arriving around 4 pm.

Tour Accommodation

This tour includes 3 nights full board accommodation in a double room at Muyuna Amazon Lodge, featuring private bathrooms and terraces with hammocks facing the river.

Flight Schedule

If your flight does not align with the schedule, we can adapt the pick-up time for a supplement, recommending arrival by 3 pm to utilize daylight for river observation.
