Yanayacu River 6-day Trip

Day 1

Pick-up from your hotel in Iquitos at 9:15 am. Transfer to the city port for a boat trip to the camp. Enjoy a buffet lunch and explore the nature around. Opportunities to see the pygmy marmoset and sunset by a lagoon. Dinner followed by a night boat trip for alligator spotting.

Day 2

After breakfast, visit Sapote lagoon and Moena lagoon to observe birds, sloths, and monkeys. Those interested can fish for piranhas in the Corriente and Purura lagoons. Later, observe the hoatzin and end the day searching for tarantulas and frogs.

Day 3

Discover the pink dolphin in the Amazon and see iguanas and the Victoria Regia plant. After lunch, join a boat trip to Juanachi Lagoon for birdwatching. Conclude with a night tour.

Day 4

Breakfast followed by an optional camping experience in a remote area of the Amazon. Enjoy a picnic lunch and the option to catch fish for dinner.

Day 5

Camping participants will have a picnic breakfast and return to base camp for a shared meal. Visit San Juan de Yanayacu to learn about riverbank life before returning to the cabins for a snack and a night walk.

Day 6

Explore Sapote Lagoon and continue to Moena Lagoon to see sloths. After the boat trip, have a buffet lunch before returning to Iquitos, estimated arrival at 4 pm.

Accommodation

Includes 4 nights full board in a double room at Muyuna Amazon Lodge and one night camping. Option to spend all 5 nights at the lodge. Camping cabins feature private bathrooms and hammocks facing the river.

Flight Times

Flight times can be adjusted for pick-up, with a possible supplement for late arrivals. Maximum departure time is 3 pm for optimal river visibility.
