Yanayacu River 6-day Trip
Day 1
Pickup will be at your hotel in Iquitos at 9:15 am. Transfer to the city port for a boat trip to the camp. Enjoy a buffet lunch and a nature walk. You will have the chance to see the pygmy marmoset and a sunset by a lagoon. After dinner, a boat tour in the jungle to find alligators will follow.
Day 2
After breakfast, visit the Sapote lagoon and Moena lagoon to see birds, sloths, and monkeys. After lunch, optional piranha fishing in the Corriente and Purura lagoons will be available. Observe the hoatzin and end the day looking for tarantulas and frogs.
Day 3
Discover the pink dolphin of the Amazon, iguanas, and the Victoria Regia plant. After lunch, a boat trip to Juanachi Lagoon for bird watching will occur. A night tour will conclude the day.
Day 4
Breakfast will be served and camping in a remote area is optional, with a picnic lunch provided. You may catch your own fish for dinner.
Day 5
Campers will enjoy a picnic breakfast before returning to base camp. After a group lunch, visit San Juan de Yanayacu to learn about riverbank life. A night walk to find giant frogs will follow.
Day 6
Explore the Amazon River and Sapote Lagoon to observe various birds. The visit to Moena Lagoon will include seeing sloths. After lunch, return to Iquitos, arriving around 4 pm.
Accommodation
The tour includes 4 nights of full board accommodation in a double room at Muyuna Amazon Lodge and one night at a campsite. There is an option to stay all 5 nights at the lodge. Camping cabins feature private bathrooms and a terrace with hammocks facing the river.
Flight Times
If your flight time does not coincide with the indicated timetable, you may arrange a late pickup for an additional fee. Maximum departure time is 3 pm.
