Yanayacu River 6-day Trip
Day 1
Pickup at hotel in Iquitos at 9:15 am followed by transfer to the city port for a boat trip to the camp. After a buffet lunch, explore the nature surrounding us and possibly see the pygmy marmoset. Enjoy a sunset by a lagoon, followed by dinner and a night boat trip to search for alligators.
Day 2
Post-breakfast, visit the Sapote lagoon and Moena lagoon to observe birds, sloths, and monkeys. Following lunch, optional fishing for piranhas. Observe the hoatzin, followed by dinner and a search for tarantulas and frogs at night.
Day 3
Discover the pink dolphin and iguanas. After lunch, a boat trip to Juanachi Lagoon for bird watching, followed by a night tour.
Day 4
Breakfast, followed by an option to camp in the Amazon, with a picnic lunch and the chance to fish for dinner.
Day 5
Campers enjoy breakfast before returning to base camp, then visit San Juan de Yanayacu to learn about riverbank life. After a snack, a night walk for giant frogs.
Day 6
Visit the Sapote Lagoon and Moena Lagoon to observe birds and sloths. After the boat trip, enjoy a buffet lunch and return to Iquitos by 4 pm.
Accommodation
The tour includes 4 nights of full board accommodation at Muyuna Amazon Lodge in a double room and one night camping. All nights can be spent at the lodge if preferred. Camping cabins offer private bathrooms and a terrace with hammocks.
Flight Times
Departure times are adaptable for late pickups with a supplement. The latest departure is 3 pm for optimal river viewing.
