Easter Island and Anakena Beach Trip
After collecting you from your hotel at the indicated time, we'll start our tour of Easter Island traveling along the East coast.
First, we visit the archaeological site of Ahu Akahanga, where you'll see the remains of a settlement and the tomb of King Hotu Matu'a. Your guide will explain the significance of this king in local history.
Our next stop is Ahu Tongariki, the largest sanctuary on Easter Island. The 15 moai here were restored in the 90s after being destroyed during the 18th-century conflicts, allowing you to admire them in their restored state.
Next, we'll travel to Rano Raraku, the quarry where most moai were sculpted. We'll walk along the crater and see the unfinished moai. One notable moai, nicknamed ‘El Gigante,’ would have measured 70 feet high.
We'll take a break for lunch amid the more than 390 moai at Rano Raraku. You can bring your own food or choose the picnic option, which includes a sandwich, hard-boiled egg, nuts, cereal bar, fruit, and a bottle of mineral water.
After lunch, we'll visit the smaller sanctuary of Ahu Te Pito Kura and then reach Anakena beach, where you can see the moai of Ahu Nau Nau and enjoy the white sand. The tour concludes with a return to your hotel after seven hours.
