Explore Easter Island on this complete tour which takes you from Ahu Akahanga to Anakena beach, passing Rano Raraku quarry and Ahu Tongariki along the way. This is the essential trip for any visit to Easter Island!
Activity Details
After picking you up from your hotel at the indicated time, we'll start our tour of Easter Island traveling along the East coast.
First, we visit Ahu Akahanga, where you will see the remains of a settlement and the tomb of King Hotu Matu'a, with the guide narrating the story of this mythical king.
Our next stop is Ahu Tongariki, the largest sanctuary on Easter Island. The 15 moai here were restored in the 90s after being destroyed during the tribal wars of the 18th century. You can admire the restored moai on the platform.
Next, we'll travel to the volcanic crater of Rano Raraku, home to the quarry where most moai were sculpted. We will walk along the crater to discover the unfinished moai, including ‘El Gigante,’ which would have been the largest moai statue.
We will have lunch in this setting, among more than 390 moai statues. You can bring your own food or book the option for a packed lunch, which includes a sandwich, hard-boiled egg, nuts, cereal bar, fruit, and a bottle of water.
After lunch, we’ll continue to Ahu Te Pito Kura and afterwards reach Anakena beach to admire the moai of Ahu Nau Nau. Finally, we will conclude the tour by returning to your hotel after a seven-hour route.
Entrance to Rapa Nui National Park
You'll need to buy your own entrance ticket to the Rapa Nui National Park ahead of time, as it is not included in the tour price.
