Step into the ancient past of Easter Island with this trip to the ceremonial village of Orongo and the Rano Kaa volcano. Prepare to be astounded!

Orongo and Rano Kau Volcano Trip

At the indicated time, we'll collect you from your hotel and start a journey back to ancient times. The first stop is at Vinapu, an archaeological site with intricately carved stones and Ahu stone platforms resembling Inca constructions.

Next, we visit the Rano Kau volcano. We will walk along the volcano's sides and reach the top with a large crater housing one of the three freshwater lakes of Easter Island. From here, enjoy views of the landscape and the three islets where Rapa Nui people held an important religious ceremony.

Near Rano Kau, you'll find the ruins of the ceremonial town of Orongo. Here, see mystical oval-shaped stone statues and numerous petroglyphs depicting the “birdmen” who participated in a race to retrieve the first egg of the season.

By the end of the tour, you'll gain insight into the legends and traditions of the ancient inhabitants of Easter Island. The excursion lasts 3 hours, concluding back at your hotel.
