Private tour to Ana Kakenga and Ahu Akivi
- 3 - 5 Stunden
This excursion to Ana Kakenga and Ahu Akivi is a way to see the Moai sculptures and one of the most visited caves of Easter Island.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet you at your hotel on Easter Island. From there, we'll set off on this day trip to Ana Kakenga and Ahu Akivi, where moai sculptures and a cave await us.
The first stop will be at Ana Kakenga, the 'Cave of Two Windows'. This cave was the night shelter of the ancestors of the island of Rapa Nui.
Venturing into the Ana Kakenga Cave, we'll get views of the Pacific Ocean at two different points. We'll also discuss how this location offered protection from potential threats and delve into the history of the island's ancient inhabitants.
We'll continue our journey to Ahu Akivi, a sacred place where the seven sculptures of the explorers who discovered Rapa Nui are located. As we explore, we'll discuss the legend of these sculptures and the significance of the first settlers of Easter Island.
Very close to Ahu Akivi is Puna Pau, where we'll unwind before concluding the private tour. This is where the headdresses worn by the moai sculptures were made. Before concluding, we'll learn how these headdresses were crafted.
After 3-5 hours of adventure, we'll conclude this activity at your hotel on Easter Island.
