On this excursion to Cholula from Puebla, we'll explore one of the oldest sites in Mexico and discover the history of a famous handicraft technique by visiting a Talavera pottery factory!
Cholula & Talavera Factory Tour
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Puebla to go to the archaeological site of Cholula, one of the oldest archaeological sites in Mexico.
We'll take a 2-hour tour of this complex, which houses the largest pyramid in Mesoamerica. We will explore the accessible parts of the Great Pyramid of Cholula. We'll see the Patio of the Altars, featuring three symmetric altars, and then we'll climb to the top of the pyramid to visit the 16th-century Church of Los Remedios.
After visiting Cholula, we will stop at the Church of Santa Maria Tonantzintla, known for its baroque art, and the Church of San Francisco Acatepec, recognized for its ceramic mosaic façade and red brick.
To conclude the excursion, we will tour a Talavera pottery factory, learning about its history and observing various artisan pieces.
Finally, we will return to your hotel in Puebla, where we will conclude the tour 5-6 hours after the initial pickup.
