Cholula & Talavera Factory Tour
At the scheduled time, pickup will be at your hotel in Puebla to head to the archaeological site of Cholula, known as one of the oldest archaeological sites in Mexico.
The tour will last 2 hours, covering the complex that includes the largest pyramid in Mesoamerica, which is reportedly larger than the pyramid of Giza in Egypt.
While the Great Pyramid of Cholula remains unearthed, accessible areas will be explored. You'll see the Patio of the Altars with its three symmetrically placed altars. Then, there will be a climb to the top of the pyramid, where the 16th-century Church of Los Remedios is located.
Following Cholula, a visit will be made to the Church of Santa Maria Tonantzintla, noted for its popular baroque art, and then to the Church of San Francisco Acatepec, distinguished by its ceramic mosaics and red brick façade.
The excursion concludes with a tour of a Talavera pottery factory, where you will learn about the history and see various artisan pieces.
Lastly, you will return to your hotel in Puebla, concluding approximately 5-6 hours after the initial pickup.
