Izta-Popo Zoquiapan National Park Hike
After picking you up from your hotel in Puebla, we will proceed to the Izta-Popo Zoquiapan National Park, passing through Paso de Cortés until arriving at the parking lot of La Joyita, where the hiking route begins.
The hike along the Ruta de los Portillos spans 4 kilometers, showcasing icy landscapes and deserted areas. Participants will enjoy views of the two volcanoes, Iztaccihuatl and Popocatepetl, while learning about their legends.
During the hike, there will be a stop for a quesadilla and a hot drink. The hike may reveal local wildlife, including coyotes, badgers, lizards, and deer amid the coniferous forests. Those interested in mycology can look for various species of fungi in the park.
After 4 hours of hiking and exploring, the group will return to the parking lot and head back to Puebla, arriving around 5 pm.
