The highest volcano in North America is the focus of this 2-day hiking route on the Pico de Orizaba. We'll crown the summit of the highest mountain in Mexico and enjoy breathtaking views.

Pico de Orizaba 2 Day Hiking Tour

Day 1: Puebla - Pico de Orizaba

After picking you up at your hotel in Puebla at 8:30 am, we'll head east towards Pico de Orizaba, also known as Citlaltépetl. Upon arriving in Tlachichuca, we will switch to a 4x4 vehicle to reach the north refuge of Pico de Orizaba, where we will set up our tent and have lunch. A short hike will follow to acclimatise to the terrain, after which the afternoon will be free.

Dinner will be served, and we’ll retire early to rest for the next day's hike.

Day 2: Pico de Orizaba - Puebla

We will wake up at 12:30 am for breakfast at the refuge. The trek will begin under the stars and will take approximately 8 hours to reach the summit at 5747 meters (18854.99 feet). During the hike, we will enjoy views of the landscape and learn about its formation, as well as the unique feature of frozen lava found here.

We'll admire the flora and fauna of the high mountains and experience a sunrise from the heights. The descent will take about 4 hours back to the base camp, where we will have a meal at the refuge before returning to the 4x4.

The tour will conclude between 5 pm and 6 pm at your hotel in Puebla.
