Carara National Park Tour Itinerary
Having been picked up from your hotel in Jaco, you'll head north toward the Carara National Park, part of the Central Pacific Conservation Area, which protects the natural landscapes and wildlife of this region of Costa Rica.
Arriving in Carara, you'll delve into the biodiverse rainforest, surrounded by four different types of forest providing dense cover over the national park.
Carara is a birdwatcher's paradise: discover over 400 species of birds, including the country's largest remaining population of wild scarlet macaws, which are in danger of extinction.
As you explore the routes through Carara National Park, whose name means "River of Lizards" in the now-extinct indigenous Huetar language, you'll have the opportunity to spot some of these reptiles as well as other native animals, including American crocodiles, musk hogs, sloths, and howler monkeys.
After four hours of exploring, you'll return to your hotel, concluding the tour.
