3-Day Hiking Tour to Pico Duarte

On this 3-day hiking tour around Pico Duarte, you'll start from Jarabacoa and climb the highest mountain in the Antilles.

Description

Day 1

We will pick you up from the campground on Calle de la Piña and head to the Cordillera Central. We'll be dropped off at the Manabao swamp to begin our 4-kilometre (2.5 miles) hike through the jungle. A short stop will be made halfway to rest before reaching La Compartición, located at 2450 metres (8000 feet) above sea level.

Day 2

After breakfast, we will ascend towards Pico Duarte via a trail approximately 13 kilometres (8 miles) long, stopping along the way for food and to appreciate the forests. We will reach the summit at 3087 metres (10,127 feet), the highest point in the Antilles, where we can enjoy panoramic views. We will return to the encampment for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

Following breakfast at the camp, we will hike back to the Manabao swamp, enjoy a picnic-type lunch, and then return to the meeting point in Jarabacoa, expected by late afternoon.

Accommodation and Food

This hiking tour includes 2 nights of accommodation at a mountain encampment near Pico Duarte. Meals include 2 breakfasts, 3 lunches, and 2 dinners, with picnic-style snacks in nature.
