Join us for a stroll through the port of Xàbia, exploring the history and highlighting iconic places from its historical beginnings to the 20th century.
Tour Details
We will meet at Xàbia Posit at the scheduled time to commence our journey, visiting key highlights of Xàbia and its port.
Our first stop is the Xàbia Yacht Club, where we will explore the history of Xàbia port and its role in the export of raisins as an economic staple in the 20th century. Discussions will include local wines and the concept of the “Riu Rau.”
Next, we will briefly stop at the Fishermen's Guild to analyze distinctive fishing methods in Xàbia, known for their unique techniques and perilous nature.
Then, we will pass by the Our Lady of Loreto Parish, examining the avant-garde 20th-century architecture, before visiting the Joaquín Sorolla Sculpture to learn about Joaquín Sorolla's connection to Xàbia, his contribution to Impressionism, and his absence from the city.
Our next location will be the Casa del Cable, reflecting on its importance in the 19th century as the site of the first cable connecting the Balearic Islands to the Peninsula. We will then proceed to Triana Bridge to explore the origin of the neighborhood's name, also known as “Aduanas del Mar.”
Lastly, we will visit Platja del Primer Muntanyar, one of the best spots for sunsets in Xàbia. We will discuss iconic places such as Cabo de la Nau, Baños de la Reina, and the First Montañar. The tour will conclude after an hour and a half.
