Uncover Armenia's rich history on this excursion from Yerevan, exploring the iconic Garni Temple and the awe-inspiring Geghard Monastery.
Tour Details
We'll meet at 96 Nalbandyan Street in Yerevan to start our journey.
The first stop is Garni, located about 30 kilometers (19 miles) from Yerevan, with a short break at Charents Arch for views of Ararat Valley and Mount Masis.
Next is the Garni Temple, a blend of Greco-Roman and Armenian architecture. During a one-hour guided tour, explore the ruins of the royal palace and the baths featuring a preserved mosaic.
If visiting between March 1 and November 15, we'll stop at the Symphony of Stones, a natural formation of basalt columns resembling a stone cathedral.
Following this, participate in a lavash-making workshop lasting 40 minutes, where you will learn to bake traditional bread and taste it with cheese and fresh herbs.
Next, we’ll visit the Geghard Monastery, a 13th-century complex and UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a one-hour guided tour of its rock-cut churches.
We’ll conclude the tour after five to six hours, returning to the starting point in Yerevan.
Itinerary Adjustments
From November 16 to February 28, the Symphony of Stones will not be included in the itinerary due to winter road conditions.
