No plans in Zacatecas? Don't miss this excursion to Fresnillo, the mining capital of Mexico. We'll also go to the town of Plateros to admire the revered carving of the Santo Niño de Atocha.

Fresnillo & Plateros Excursion

We'll depart at your chosen time from your hotel in Zacatecas towards Fresnillo.

Upon arrival, we will learn about notable historical figures from Fresnillo, including painter Francisco Goitia and composer Tomás Méndez. Afterward, we will visit the Proaño mine, known for being one of the most profitable silver mines globally.

During the mine visit, we will learn various facts about its history and operations. Following this, we will head to Plateros to visit the Sanctuary of the Niño de Atocha, a significant center of Catholic veneration in Mexico.

The carving of the Santo Niño de Atocha attracts pilgrims from across Mexico and beyond. The reasons for its veneration will be uncovered during the tour.

Finally, we will return to Zacatecas, with hotel arrival scheduled four hours after pickup.

Excursions to the Proaño mine are only available on Saturdays and Sundays, with a departure time of 9:45 am.
