Jerez Alcazar & Cathedral Guided Tour Itinerary
After meeting at the indicated time in Plaza del Arenal, the main square of Jerez de la Frontera, the walking tour will commence around the city's key historic buildings and monuments.
The tour begins with a stroll through Alameda Vieja Park, leading to the significant Alcazar of Jerez, a prime example of Almohad architecture and the oldest monument in the city.
Guests will enter the monumental complex of the Alcazar through the City Gate, exploring the Patio de Armas, the gardens, the Arab baths, the pharmacy, and the notable Villavicencio Palace, built on the remains of an earlier Islamic palace.
Next, the group will proceed to Encarnacion Square, home to the Cathedral. Inside, visitors will observe the unique Gothic, Baroque, and Neoclassical architectural styles, as well as the cathedral museum and sacristies, including the renowned La Virgen Niña en oración by Francisco de Zurbarán.
The tour concludes in Plaza de la Encarnación after two hours of exploration.
