Discover the secrets and legends of the Holy City for the three principal monotheistic religions on this guided tour through Jerusalem's streets, exploring its history and culture.
Description
The tour begins with a pickup from the David Citadel Hotel at the scheduled time. We start by climbing Mount Scopus for views of the old part of the city, followed by a visit to the Gardens of Gethsemani and the Church of All Nations before heading to the old town.
We will walk along HaKardo, the main street from Jerusalem's Byzantine period. In the Jewish Quarter, we visit the Western Wall, the last remnants of the ancient Temple of Jerusalem. Visitors can leave a piece of paper with their wishes in the wall's crevices. Behind the wall lies the Dome of the Rock, an Islamic shrine.
Next, we head to the Christian Quarter to see the Holy Sepulchre church, located at the site where, according to the scriptures, Jesus was crucified. We will also walk the Via Dolorosa Street where he carried the cross.
At midday, there will be one hour of free time for lunch at a local restaurant. After reconvening, we will tour the modern area of Jerusalem, viewing the Parliament of Israel and the Holocaust Museum to reflect on recent history.
The tour lasts 10 hours.
Important
On Fridays, Saturdays, and public holidays, the visit to the Holocaust Museum will be replaced with a visit to Miskenot Sha'ananim, the first Jewish neighborhood on the outskirts of ancient Jerusalem.
