On this tour of Orthodox Jewish culture, you'll learn about the customs and traditions of the local community and visit the neighbourhoods of Jerusalem where they reside.
Description
We will start this tour of Orthodox Jewish culture around Jerusalem in Davidka Square, at the bus stop in front of the Abraham Jerusalem Hostel.
During the tour, we will explore the significance of the curls of the Orthodox Jews and their characteristic black attire. We will visit key locations in Jerusalem that are significant to this important Jewish religious community.
Our first stop will be the Mahane Yehuda Market to discuss the foods commonly consumed by Orthodox Jews. We will also visit shops that cater to their beliefs in the Zichron Moshe neighbourhood.
Next, we will explore the Mea She'arim district, home to Ultraorthodox Jews. Here, we will examine their main social and religious cultural customs, beliefs and rites, before moving to the Ge'ula neighbourhood to further understand their way of life.
This 2.5-hour tour will conclude near our original starting point.
