Begin your walking tour in the historic Navchokiya district, notable for its beautiful temples, bustling bazaars, and typical indigo blue houses, referred to as havelis.

As you stroll through the labyrinthine streets, admire the distinct colour of these houses, originally painted blue to indicate the residences of brahmins, or Hindu priests. This practice later extended to many residents, as the blue paint was believed to have insect-repelling and heat-insulating properties.

Continue your route to Ranisar Lake, an artificial reservoir constructed over 500 years ago to store water.
