Camel Ride in the Thar Desert

Ride through the Thar Desert on a camel on this activity from Jodhpur. We'll also visit the Sachiya Mata Temple - a unique experience if you're in Jodhpur!

Options

When booking, you can choose between two different options. Both include pickup at your hotel or the airport, train or bus station in Jodhpur, an English-speaking guide, and a Marwari-style lunch.

Camel ride (6 hours)

After pickup, we'll head to Osian to visit the Sachiya Mata Temple, a Jaini building built by order of King Parmar Upendre in the 9th century. Once there, you'll explore it on your own. Afterward, we'll go to a local restaurant for a Marwari-style meal. Then, we'll head to the Thar Desert, where we'll enjoy a two-hour camel ride through the dunes.

Camel ride + Visit to a Bishnoi village (10 hours)

After picking you up, we'll first visit a Bishnoi village to learn about the culture, religion, and lifestyle of the community. We'll see a variety of wildlife in this area, such as black bucks, chinkara, blue bulls, desert foxes, hares, and partridges. Afterward, we'll follow the itinerary described above, visiting the Sachiya Mata Temple, enjoying a Marwari-style lunch, and taking a camel ride through the Thar Desert.
