Embark on an exciting 4-day safari exploring Kruger National Park, where you will navigate through the iconic savannah in pursuit of lions, elephants, zebras, and various other wildlife that inhabit southern Africa.

Day 1: Arrival in Johannesburg - Hazyview

Your adventure begins in Johannesburg. At the arranged time, we will pick you up from the airport or your hotel and head towards the northeast region of South Africa, not far from the Mozambique border.

This scenic drive, lasting approximately 4 hours, will lead us to a lodge in Hazyview. After checking in, you will enjoy a light lunch before taking some time to refresh in your room.

In the evening, we will regroup and head north to witness a magnificent sunset over Kruger National Park. After soaking in the breathtaking view, we will return to the lodge for dinner and rest in preparation for the exciting day ahead.

Day 2: Hazyview - Kruger Park - Hazyview

Get ready for an unforgettable experience today! Rising early, we will proceed to South Africa's most popular nature reserve for a memorable sunrise safari in Kruger National Park. As dawn breaks, we will seek out the Big Five: lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalos, and elephants.

After a thrilling 2-hour safari, we will pause at a nearby rest area for a picnic-style breakfast, freshly prepared at the lodge. Following this delightful meal, we will resume our exploration, taking in the picturesque rivers and plains that characterize this protected area.

Your safari continues and will conclude at another rest area, allowing you to relax by the water and enjoy lunch at your own expense. After our meal, we will return to the lodge in Hazyview, where you can unwind at the swimming pool and enjoy the amenities available.

Day 3: Hazyview - Drakensberg - Hazyview

Following breakfast at the lodge, we will depart Hazyview to embark on our excursion to the Drakensberg mountains. Our first stop will be the God's Window Viewpoint, where weather permitting, you can take in stunning views of the Kruger Park.

Next, we’ll visit Bourke's Luck Potholes, an impressive gorge located within the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve. This natural wonder is recognized as the third-largest canyon globally.

Continuing our journey, we will arrive at Lisbon Falls, a captivating series of waterfalls that are bound to leave you in awe. We'll then move on to the quaint town of Graskop for lunch.

Afterward, we will return to the lodge in Hazyview to relax for the remainder of the day.

Day 4: Hazyview - Kruger Park - Hazyview - Johannesburg

We will depart early from the lodge for another sunrise safari in Kruger National Park. This gives us another chance to spot any wildlife we may have missed previously.

Once our safari concludes, we will stop for a breakfast. Afterward, we will head back to the lodge to gather our belongings. Once everything is packed, we will begin our return journey to the Johannesburg airport, expected to arrive around 5 to 6 pm. Safe travels!

Accommodation

The safari package includes 3 nights of lodging along with breakfast at the Umbhaba Eco Lodge (3 stars) or a comparable establishment. Please note that the mentioned rates apply to individuals sharing a double room.

Flights and Transfers

When arranging flights to Johannesburg, note that on the first day of the safari, pickups from O.R Tambo International Airport will begin at the Shuttle and Bus Terminal in the arrivals area between 6:30 am and 7 am, with the last transfer leaving for Hazyview at 7:15 am.

This means your arrival time in Johannesburg must be no later than 5 am. To ensure a smooth start, it is advisable to spend the night prior to the safari in Johannesburg, which you'll need to arrange on your own.

On the safari day, we can collect you from any hotels or lodges within 5km (3.1 miles) of the airport between 6:30 am and 6:45 am.

On the final day of the safari, we anticipate arriving back in Johannesburg around 5:30 pm to 6 pm. Upon arrival, we can drop you off at a hotel or lodge within 5km (3.1 miles) from the airport, allowing for adequate time to catch any flights scheduled after this timeframe, ensuring that no national flights depart before 8 pm or international flights before 9 pm.
