Day 1: Johannesburg - Hazyview

Your adventure begins with a warm welcome in South Africa! We will collect you from Johannesburg Airport or your local accommodation and journey towards the northeast.

After approximately a four-hour drive, we will reach our lodge in Hazyview. You can settle in, enjoy a light lunch, and take some time to relax in your room.

As dusk falls, we'll venture to the most renowned wilderness area in South Africa to witness a stunning sunset over Kruger National Park. Subsequently, we will return to the lodge for dinner and a restful night.

Day 2: Hazyview - Kruger Park - Hazyview

Anticipate an early wake-up call as we embark on an exhilarating sunrise safari in Kruger National Park. In the gentle morning light, our mission is to spot lions, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes, and elephants—the iconic Big Five of the African savannah!

After about three hours of exploration, we'll pause in a park area to enjoy a picnic breakfast prepared by our lodge. Rejuvenated, we will continue our safari through Kruger Park, taking in the enchanting rivers and expansive plains of this incredible reserve.

The day will conclude at another picnic spot in the park, allowing you some personal time for lunch. We will make our way back to the lodge afterward, where the afternoon is yours to relax by the swimming pool and enjoy the amenities. Dinner will be served at the lodge.

Day 3: Hazyview - Drakensberg Mountains - Hazyview

Following a delightful breakfast at the hotel, we’ll set out for a captivating journey through the spectacular Drakensberg Mountains. Our first destination will be the iconic God's Window viewpoint. On a clear day, this lookout offers mesmerizing views of the surrounding landscape, including Kruger Park.

After taking in the vast vistas, we will proceed to Bourke's Luck Potholes Gorge within the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, known as the third-largest canyon worldwide and celebrated for its striking beauty.

Your exploration continues at the Lisbon Falls, the most famous waterfalls of the region. We will then drive to the quaint town of Graskop, where you can enjoy some shopping and lunch at your own pace.

After your meal, we will return to the lodge, leaving you the remainder of the afternoon to unwind and take advantage of the facilities. Dinner will also be provided that evening.

Day 4: Hazyview - Kruger Park - Hazyview

After another satisfying breakfast, we’ll set off on a fresh safari through Kruger National Park, with hopes of discovering any wildlife we may not have seen previously.

By midday, we will return to the lodge for a light lunch. The afternoon is at your disposal until dinner, which will be served on this day.

Day 5: Hazyview - Kruger Park - Hazyview - Johannesburg

Prepare for an early start as we commence our final sunrise safari in Kruger Park, where the early hours provide an excellent opportunity to see species such as the elusive leopard.

Following this final adventure, we will enjoy a picnic breakfast at one of the park’s rest areas before heading back to the lodge to gather our luggage. Ultimately, we will return to Johannesburg Airport, with drop-off scheduled between 5 pm and 6 pm. We wish you safe travels!

Accommodation

This safari offers four nights of lodging along with breakfast at the Umbhaba Eco Lodge (3-star) or an equivalent hotel. Note that listed prices are applicable for individuals sharing a double room.

Flight and Transfer Details

When organizing your outbound flight to South Africa, please remember that on the first day, our pickup from Johannesburg O.R. Tambo International Airport will take place at the Shuttle and Bus Terminal located in the arrivals area, scheduled between 6:30 am and 7 am, with departure to Hazyview set for 7:15 am.

To facilitate a seamless beginning to your safari, please ensure your flight arrives in South Africa by 5 am at the latest. To enhance your experience and avoid any complications, we suggest staying overnight at a hotel in Johannesburg prior to the safari, with accommodation costs being your own responsibility.

Additionally, on the day of the safari, we offer pickups from hotels and lodges situated within a 5 km (3 mi) radius of Johannesburg airport between 6:30 am and 6:45 am.

On your last day, we aim to arrive in Johannesburg between 5:30 pm and 6 pm. Once we reach the city, you can choose to be dropped off at either the airport or a hotel/lodge within a 5 km (3 mi) radius of the terminal. If you have a departing flight from Johannesburg O.R. Tambo International Airport that day, please avoid scheduling domestic flights before 8 pm or international flights before 9 pm.
