Pilanesberg Park Safari
Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your accommodation at 4 am, setting the stage for a scenic journey to Pilanesberg National Park. The drive, which lasts approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, promises to be rewarding.
Upon arrival at Pilanesberg Park, we will embark on an exhilarating safari, focusing on the quest to observe Africa's Big Five. This term refers to the lion, the black rhinoceros, the African elephant, the leopard, and the African buffalo.
For four hours, we will traverse this stunning landscape, rich with geological history as it lies within an ancient volcanic crater. Did you know that over 7,000 animals inhabit this area?
Near the Mankwe Dam, be prepared to spot an array of herbivores including zebras, antelopes, and giraffes. Birdwatchers will also revel in the diversity of avian life, from cormorants to majestic fish eagles.
At 1:30 pm, we will pause for a leisurely lunch in the vicinity of Pilanesberg.
Africa's Big Five
While the presence of wild animals can be unpredictable, there is a strong possibility of encountering Africa's Big Five—lion, leopard, rhinoceros, buffalo, and elephant—thanks to the thriving populations within Pilanesberg National Park. However, external factors may influence our chances of viewing these magnificent creatures.
