Lake Titicaca 2-Day Tour

Would you like to get to know Lake Titicaca and the ethnic groups that live there? On this 2-day excursion from Juliaca we'll visit the islands of Uros, Taquile and Amantani. In addition, we'll get in touch with the hospitality of the local people by staying with a local family.

Lake Titicaca 2-Day Tour

Day 1: Juliaca - Uros Islands - Amantani

Between 5:15 am and 6:30 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Juliaca and go by minibus to Puno, where we'll board a boat across Lake Titicaca.

We will visit two Uros islands, artificial islets made of aquatic plants. We will learn about the local beliefs and their traditional way of life.

Afterwards, we will head to the island of Amantani. We will have lunch at a local family's home, consisting of two courses and a soft drink.

We will then go on a one-hour hike to the Pachamama or Pachatata hills. Here, we will explore the historical aspects of Amantani and enjoy views of the agricultural terraces while visiting the temples and watching the sunset.

In the evening, we will have dinner and rest at the local family's house.

Day 2: Amantani - Taquile - Juliaca

On the second day, we will have breakfast with coffee or tea, fruits, and breads before saying goodbye to the island family. We will board a boat at 8:00 am to the island of Taquile.

We will spend four hours in Taquile, visiting the handicraft market and learning about the textile art. We will also walk along trails to viewpoints.

Before returning, we will have lunch consisting of two courses and a soft drink. The tour concludes at 4 pm at your hotel in Juliaca.

Accommodation

The tour includes one night's accommodation with a local family on Amantani Island, along with two lunches, one dinner, and one breakfast.

Tour ending in Puno

If preferred, the tour can end in Puno instead of Juliaca. We will drop you off at a central location or hotel of your choice.
