Lake Titicaca 2-Day Tour

Would you like to get to know Lake Titicaca and the ethnic groups that live there? On this 2-day excursion from Juliaca we'll visit the islands of Uros, Taquile, and Amantani. Additionally, we'll stay with a local family to experience their hospitality.

Lake Titicaca 2-Day Tour

Day 1: Juliaca - Uros Islands - Amantani

Between 5:15 am and 6:30 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Juliaca and travel by minibus to Puno, where we will switch to a boat for crossing Lake Titicaca.

We'll visit two Uros islands, which are artificial islets made of aquatic plants, to learn about the local beliefs and traditional way of life.

Next, we will head to the island of Amantani, where we will have lunch at a local family’s home, which includes two courses and a soft drink. After lunch, we'll hike for one hour to visit the Pachamama or Pachatata hills, learning about the history of Amantani and enjoying views of the agricultural terraces and temples.

In the evening, we'll have dinner and stay overnight at a local family’s home.

Day 2: Amantani - Taquile - Juliaca

After breakfast, we will say goodbye to the island family and board a boat at 8:00 am to the island of Taquile.

We will spend four hours on Taquile, visiting the handicraft market, learning about textile art, and walking trails to viewpoints. Before leaving, we will enjoy lunch (two courses and a soft drink).

The excursion will conclude at 4 pm at your hotel in Juliaca.

Accommodation

The tour includes one night's accommodation with a local family on Amantani, as well as two lunches, one dinner, and one breakfast.

Tour ending in Puno

If preferred, you can complete the tour in Puno instead of returning to Juliaca. We will drop you off at a central location or hotel of your choice.
