Lake Titicaca 2-Day Tour

Would you like to get to know Lake Titicaca and the ethnic groups that live there? On this 2-day excursion from Juliaca, we'll visit the islands of Uros, Taquile, and Amantani. In addition, we'll stay with a local family for a close encounter with their hospitality.

Lake Titicaca 2-Day Tour

Day 1: Juliaca - Uros Islands - Amantani

Between 5:15 am and 6:30 am, pickup will be from your hotel in Juliaca, followed by a minibus transfer to Puno. From there, we will board a boat to begin our journey across Lake Titicaca. Our first stop will be two Uros islands, which are artificial islets made of aquatic plants, where we will learn about the local beliefs and lifestyle.

Next, we will head to Amantani, the largest island in the Peruvian part of Lake Titicaca. After dropping off our luggage, we will have a two-course lunch with a local family. Following lunch, a one-hour hike to the Pachamama or Pachatata hills will provide historical insights and stunning views of the island's agricultural terraces, culminating with sunset observation.

We will have dinner and rest overnight with the local family.

Day 2: Amantani - Taquile - Juliaca

After breakfast, we will leave the family at 8:00 am and head to the island of Taquile. We will spend four hours exploring Taquile, including visits to the handicraft market and learning about the island's textile art while enjoying scenic trails. Before returning, we will have a delicious two-course lunch.

The tour concludes at 4 pm at your hotel in Juliaca.

Accommodation

The tour includes one night's accommodation with a local family on Amantani Island, as well as two lunches, one dinner, and one breakfast.

Tour ending in Puno

If preferred, the tour can conclude in Puno instead of returning to Juliaca. We will drop you off at any central location or hotel of your choice.
