Lake Titicaca 2-Day Tour

Would you like to get to know Lake Titicaca and the ethnic groups that live there? On this 2-day excursion from Juliaca we'll visit the islands of Uros, Taquile and Amantani. In addition, we'll get in touch with the hospitality of the local people by staying with a local family.

Lake Titicaca 2-Day Tour

Day 1: Juliaca - Uros Islands - Amantani

Between 5:15 am and 6:30 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Juliaca and travel by minibus to Puno, where we'll change transport to board a boat across Lake Titicaca.

We'll first visit two of the Uros islands, which are artificial islets made of aquatic plants, learning about local beliefs and traditional life. Following this, we'll head to the island of Amantani, the largest island in the Peruvian part of Lake Titicaca. After leaving our luggage, we will have lunch at the home of a local family, consisting of two courses and a soft drink.

After lunch, we'll go on a one-hour hike to visit the Pachamama or Pachatata hills, where we will learn about the island's history and enjoy sunset views.

In the evening, we'll have dinner and stay overnight in a local family's house.

Day 2: Amantani - Taquile - Juliaca

After breakfast, we'll leave the island family and board a boat at 8:00 am to visit Taquile. We will spend four hours exploring Taquile, including a visit to the handicraft market and learning about the textile art of the island.

Before returning to the boat, we will have a lunch of two courses and a soft drink. We will finish the excursion at 4 pm at your hotel in Juliaca.

Accommodation

The tour includes one night's accommodation in a home stay on the island of Amantani, along with two lunches, one dinner, and one breakfast.

Tour ending in Puno

If you prefer, instead of returning to Juliaca, we can end the tour in Puno, dropping you off at a central location or hotel of your choice.
