Night Swim with Manta Rays

  • 2 Stunden

Spend a unique evening snorkelling with manta rays off the coast of Hawaii's Big Island: enjoy an unforgettable night swim with these majestic sea creatures.

Night Swim with Manta Rays on Big Island Hawaii

Snorkelling is a remarkable experience, and snorkelling at night enhances this further. You will meet at Kealakehe Pkwy at the scheduled time, where safety instructions for your night swimming experience will be provided. Following this, you will board a boat and travel to a site recognized as a natural habitat for manta rays.

In five minutes, you will reach the location inhabited by these impressive creatures, which can measure up to 23 feet (7 metres) in width. After donning your snorkelling goggles and breathing tube, you will enter the water with your instructor, who will utilize a light board to help you view the manta rays in the dark. Additionally, the light will attract plankton, which is food for the rays.

You will spend about 30 to 40 minutes swimming with the manta rays, before returning to the boat and arriving back at the meeting point. This two-hour-long activity will conclude at that time.

What if we don't see any manta rays?

While it is anticipated that you will see manta rays, their presence can be unpredictable due to sea currents, wind, and weather conditions. If no manta rays are sighted during your activity, you will have the option to redo the activity on the next scheduled day for free, subject to availability.
