On this tour, we'll explore the historic centre of Cairo, touring its must-see locations: the Cairo Citadel, the Mohamed Ali Mosque, the Khan el-Khalili market, and the Egyptian Museum.

Tour Details

Having picked you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza, we'll make our way to the historic centre of one of the largest cities in Africa. Our first stop will be the Cairo Citadel, an enormous medieval fortress known as a prominent non-ancient monument in the city. Inside, we'll visit the Mohamed Ali mosque, constructed from alabaster stone.

After the fortress, we'll go to the Khan el-Khalili market, renowned in Cairo for its labyrinthine streets. This market is ideal for purchasing souvenirs and reproductions of objects from ancient Egypt.

We'll stop for a meal after the market, featuring a menu with various salads, a main course with rice and vegetables, and dessert of fruit salad.

In the afternoon, we’ll spend an hour and a half at the Egyptian Museum, a significant institution dedicated to Pharaonic civilization, showcasing numerous artifacts, including the famous Golden Mask, reflecting the art and beliefs about the afterlife.

We will also pass through Coptic Cairo, visiting Al-Muallaqa, or the hanging church, built on the ruins of the tower of Babylon, and the church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus, known as the cave church, where the holy family was sheltered.

This sightseeing experience will conclude at your hotel approximately 8 hours after pickup, highlighting the most important sites in Cairo.
