Day Trip to Petra by Plane

Travel to Jordan by plane, and discover the remains of Petra, the ancient capital of the Nabataeans, along with the mysteries of this architectural jewel.

Tour Details

After picking you up at your hotel in Cairo, we'll head to the international airport in a comfortable air-conditioned bus to take a plane to Amman.

Upon arrival at the Jordanian terminal, we'll board a bus to the Petra archaeological site. Here, an English-speaking guide will lead us through the historical monument, showcasing the impressive temples excavated by the Nabataeans in the sheer rock cliffs of the desert. We will visit key sites such as Al-Khazneh or 'The Treasury.' This renowned monument is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Next, we will explore the tombs of Petra, highlighting why this necropolis is considered one of the most significant historical sites in the Middle East. You may recognize it as the supposed resting place of the Holy Grail in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and it has also featured in 'Transformers.'

After completing the tour at the site, we'll enjoy lunch in Petra. Following our meal, we will return to Amman to take the flight back to Cairo, and then transport you back to your hotel by bus.

Extra Day in Amman

If desired, you may enhance your experience by adding another day in Amman. After visiting Petra and having lunch, we will take you to a central hotel in the Jordanian capital for an overnight stay. The next morning, you'll begin with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a guided tour of the center of Amman. This will include major landmarks such as the Roman theatre, the Citadel, the Mosques, and more.

After concluding the tour of Amman, we will proceed to the Jordanian airport for your flight to Cairo, and then continue to your hotel in the Egyptian capital.

To travel to Jordan, it is essential to have a valid passport.

Upon entering the Jordan airport, arrival and departure fees must be paid, totaling approximately 60 US dollars.
